Grampa's eyes

Charley and I have decided this summer to write a story together and he has chosen it to be about Grampa and how he sees..........the story will be about a lil boy ie.....Charley with a dif name who has a Grampa who loses his sight and as the boy wants to understand he will encounter many adventures teaching him all the things he sees when closing his eyes forcing his hands to feel/"see" every inch of the way and all the things he would have missed had he opened his eyes and ran right past them.    by sharing this I am holding myself accountable to do this with my son, bc I think its rad he asked.....to be cont....

this is what i caught Charley doing after I told him to go throw away his cup with only the chemical gel that forms from what can only be described as the kryptonite mini beads leftover residue that the ice cream truck disguises as lime xtreme dippin dats ( notice this is not a typo....the dats is bc they are not the namebrand dippin dots we know )  but instead somethin else........something only the ice cream man knows.  The staining power and energy output available in these little darling dippin dats could solve our energy crisis.  Char's face was stained for 2 days  and hes still doin laps at the park 3 days later.  live and learn live and learn.  I have learned the ice cream truck hates mommies and to prove this, you can find him everyday at the exact time school lets out parked conveniently right across the street directly across from the gates our easily persuaded lil angels exit.........

                                                                                            

GS cookies now a fond memory!!!

So don't hate me if you find out you truly are one of those with a genuine love for and addiction to girlscout cookies but here's how I found out Im not!!!!    For about 3 years now, I have missed the girlscout season and continued to spend quite frankly too many seconds in thought about this travesty.  Well....much to my uncontrollable delight, I found myself grinning at the sight of beautiful green sashes and colorful boxes of GIRL SCOUT Cookies!!!!!   So living by " to thine own self be true" I decided to indulge.  I let my son pick out any box he wanted and was content on any of these lil gems I had missed for years now.  he picked lemonades.  the only flavor new to me.  so I quickly recomposed myself and before i could stop myself said OK. pick another one and we'll get two.....oops.  So here I find myself encouraging my 5 yr old ( who normally eats more brussel sprouts than brownies) to overindulge in these once loved but now nil in comparison to all my new loves ie....Trader Joes, Paradise Bakery, etc... because I cant bring myself to eat them.  What once must have tasted like pure Xanadu, now only tastes like sugar and chemicals........darn the media!!!!  See knowledge can be a bad thing and ruin something you once soo loved!  Be careful what you question!

the way i see it, i could be picky about the particulars of the story......or just be impressed with my 5 yr olds imagination and thrilled with my 8 mnth olds occupation!

OK So forever Ive wanted to start a blog just to keep track of the randoms of life and all the memories they bring...  So what better day to start than on Gogo's birthday.  My Mom, the reason I have so many memories to appreciate and the example in which I learned its the memories that matter.  So I have decided to dedicate my first day or opening day of blogging if you will to her!  The posts following this one ( as many as I can do starting now til 11:59 am ) will all be geared towards making Gogo feel as if she has spent her birthday with her favorite mini men.  No expense will be spared...no moment too dull, no meal to messy for her to miss.  we love you Gogo and hope you enjoy your digital day with us!!!!
